Shaped Nappies

As suggested in the title these nappies are cut and shaped to fit around the baby with little or no folding required. Fastenings are usually hook and loop (like Velcro) or poppers. These are some of the most popular and successful choices of nappies due to the fact that a separate waterproof wrap is required meaning there are 2 barriers to prevent leakages of runny poo!

A paper flushable and biodegradable or fleece liner is usually used inside the nappy against the baby's skin to make cleaning easier (as they are either flushed down the toilet or washed with the nappies) and a waterproof wrap will be needed over the outside of the nappy to protect baby's clothes or your lap from the wetness of the nappy!

A wide range of fabrics are used with these nappy types such as the modern micro fibres and bamboo materials as well as the usual terry and polyester mixes. This means that some types are more suitable to line drying than others so do check first.

For a full time system then 20 nappies are suggested with 3-4 waterproof wraps. You can always buy more later if this makes life simpler for you.

Shaped nappies fall into 2 catagories: Sized Shaped (usually 2 sizes) or Onesized Shaped (fits from birth through to 35lb weight which is average toilet training age)

Each brand of nappy also comes with a multibuy option which is where you save your money and recieve some thrown in extras!
